김우진은 일상과 공간 속에서 살아 움직이는 조각을 선보이며, 현대 한국조각의 중심에서 활발히 활동하는 작가이다. 그는 어린 시절 꿈이었던 동물 사육사를 주제로, 스테인리스 오브제를 활용해 자신이 키우고 싶었던 동물들을 재현한다. 그의 조각은 단순한 외형적 재현이 아니라 정서적 재현에 집중한다. 어린아이의 시선속에서 탄생한 작품들은 따뜻하고 호기심 넘치는 감성을 담고 있다. 또한 알록달록하고 생동감 넘치는 색채는 관객으로 하여금 잊고 있던 동심을 떠올리게 하고, 각자의 이야기와 감각으로 작품을 새롭게 경험하도록 한다.
김우진의 작품은 형태를 넘어 공간과 시간, 관객과의 관계를 탐구하며, 일상 속에서도 특별함과 신비로움을 느낄 수 있는 행복한 순간을 선사한다.

Kim Woojin is an artist who presents sculptures that come alive within everyday life and spaces, actively working at the forefront of contemporary Korean sculpture Drawing on his childhood dream of becoming an animal caretaker, he recreates the animals he once longed to raise using stainless steel objects. His sculptures go beyond mere physical representation, focusing instead on emotional expression. Works born from the perspective of a child convey warmth and curiosity, while their vibrant, lively colors evoke a sense of forgotten innocence, inviting viewers to experience the pieces anew through their own stories and perceptions.
Kim Woojin’s works explore the relationships between form, space, time, and audience, offering moments of joy where the ordinary becomes imbued with wonder and a sense of the extraordinary.
